Chris Wilcox's Return Creates More Questions Then Answers

Throughout the preseason Celtic-nation has been preoccupied with Jeff Green and the battle of who is the starting four between Sully and Bass.  All in all, Boston has had a great off-season and all the pieces seem to be falling in place.

There is a forgotten man in all this hoopla however, and that is Chris Wilcox.  He too had the same surgery as Jeff Green, but has yet to be able to get on the court.  Wilcox suffered a back strain during the teams 2012 European tour.

Yesterday, Oct 24th, marked the first time Chris has been able to practice and he came through with no setbacks.  The question is now where does he stand in the pecking order of the Celtic big men.  The surprise play of rookie Jared Sullinger has made his role on the team a little bit unclear.

Wilcox has very limited skillset and doesn’t have any one thing that can say that he can surpass Sullinger on the depth chart. He is good for running the floor and a few rebounds; other than that, you can’t put him in when the game is on the line.  I would dare say that Doc would rather have Sully in that situation then Wilcox.

While it is great to see him back on the court and on the road to recovery, he may end up seeing the floor only during mop-up duty.
