Rasheed Wallace will officially be a New York Knick on Monday

We posted a few days ago that our old buddy Rasheed Wallace was working out with the New York Knicks. Most people didn't think much of it, as 'Sheed has surfaced quite a bit after his retirement 2 years ago but hasn't officially played in the NBA since then.

According to the New York Post, that will change on Monday when Wallace is introduced at Knicks Media Day:

Rasheed Wallace will officially become a Knick on Monday.

Wallace has told the Knicks he has elected to come out of retirement and join their training camp, according to an NBA source.

The 6-foot-11 Wallace, who worked out with the Knicks over the weekend, retired two years ago after a disappointing season with the Celtics. The Knicks are expected to announce the signing Monday at Media Day. The first practices begin Tuesday.

I don't think any New York fan can call the Celtics old anymore. Between Rasheed, Jason Kidd, Marcus Camby, and Kurt Thomas, the Knicks have aged rapidly this year. They might have to get rid of this advertisement hanging in NYC subways and bus stops:
