Draft Profile: Terrence Jennings, Vernon Macklin, Demontez Stitt

On Monday, June 6, the Celtics are scheduled to have a workout with several more prospects.  Among them will be Kevin Anderson, whose profile you can find here.  Also coming in for this workout is Terrence Jennings, a 6'10" Junior center out of Louisville. He's got size with a 7' 2.5" wingspan and a 9' 0" standing reach.

Most drafts do not have Jennings being taken in the draft but may be someone Danny is looking at for the 55th pick. Jennings is a very good athlete and runs the floor extremely well for a post player. He is also a strong offensive rebounder and shot blocker on the defensive end. He plays well around the rim and is developing a face up game as well. Jennings needs to gain more strength and work on his defensive rebounding to succeed at the next level, but he is an intriguing player with a big upside.

Vernon Macklin, a 6'10" power forward out of the University of Florida. Another player with good size, Macklin has a 7' 3.5" wing span and a 9' 0.75" standing reach. Macklin was one of the most productive and physically impressive players at the recent Portsmouth Invitational Tournament. He ranked third in points scored. He doesn't have much of a jumper but can score on post feeds and he also has a reliable hook shot that he can use to score with his back to the basket. He tested #1 in the lane agility drill at Portsmouth. He's older than most players in this draft class at 24 years old, but he comes ready to play right away. He's projected to go in the second round and may be a possibility with the 55th pick.

And the 4th player listed for Monday's workout is Demontez Stitt, a 6'2" guard out of Clemson. He is a good guard prospect who can get into the paint and drive past opponents. He needs to work on his perimeter game.
