Celtics Beat Wizards: 104-88

Celtics won against the Wizards in Boston tonight 104-88.

Paul Pierce led all scorers with 22 points on 5-14 shooting. For the Wizards it was Blatche and Wall who contributed 20 points each.

Garnett played well with 15 points and 11 boards to go with 3 assists and a block.

Delonte West was ejected from Friday night’s game after arguing a foul call that was made midway through the 2nd quarter. He was given the initial technical and when the official walked past him he continued to argue and the official, who was quick on the trigger, gave West the 2nd technical, sending him to the locker room early. Delonte saluted the crowd as he left the floor.

The Celtics never trailed the Wizards in this game, with the Wizards clawing back within striking distance several times in the game. Regardless of the outcome, neither team seemed to dig-in defensively.
Nenad Krstic got the spot start in place of Jermaine O’Neal, who was sat out for rest by coach Doc Rivers on Friday night. "I'm holding J.O. out tonight; he wanted to play, but I didn't think he should play," Rivers said. "I just want to keep him healthy. He's played a bunch of games and we play Sunday, Monday, Wednesday [next week], and he would like to play that entire week, so I thought this would be a good game for him to sit."
J.O. had played in 5 games over 8 days since returning from left knee surgery.
Rivers said everyone else, except Shaq (doubtful for Sunday at Miami), was available Friday night. Doc said he hasn’t decided how, or if, he’ll rest his other veterans as the postseason nears. Rivers said he thought that Jermaine O’Neal had been playing too many minutes lately and will be back on the court for Sunday’s game at Miami.
