Thibodeau close to becoming new Bulls coach

New York Daily News
Tom Thibodeau, the former Knick assistant coach, is close to finalizing a deal to become the next coach of the Chicago Bulls an NBA source told the Daily News.

Thibodeau, currently an assistant with the Celtics, was in negotiations last night with Chicago team officials. Thibodeau had been the leading candidate to take the Hornets job but passed for a chance to coach the Bulls.
Smart pick on Thibs part. The Bulls have a bright future and after how they treated Del Negro, Thibs will probably get a lot more rope. Too much has been made of Thibs coaching job in the Atlanta game where Doc got tossed. I'm sure with a whole Summer to prepare (versus a whole 2 seconds when Doc got the boot) Thibodeau will do a fine job. Congrats to Tom. Now in the meantime let's work on some double team schemes on Kobe and Pau. Consider it a parting gift to the Celtics.
