Giddens to have surgery on recently injured meniscus

The Celtics recalled J.R. Giddens from the Maine Red Claws, their NBA D-League affiliate, the team announced on Friday.

The recall is procedural, according to multiple reports. Giddens recently injured the meniscus in his left knee and is scheduled for surgery.

Sure glad Danny didn't waste that precious roster spot on Leon Powe. We definitely couldn't use his rebounding and toughness right? As I have been saying since before the season, Giddens wishes he was as good as Gerald Green and would either be traded as a contract filler or released after the deadline. This injury does nothing to change his value. No one wants him for his play. Time to start looking for a tattoo remover (unless there's a European team nicknamed the "Celtics").
