Russell, Bird, Cowens presenting at Cs-heavy HOF inductions

Next month's induction ceremony at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame will have a very heavy Boston Celtics presence among both inductees and presenters.

Celtics legends Larry Bird, and Dave Cowens, and will present awards to former Celts Dino Radja and Charlie Scott respectively, and Rick Welts by the G.O.A.T. himself, Bill Russell, while Ray Allen will aptly be inducted by Reggie Miller.

Gary Payton will present for Jason Kidd's induction, and Don Nelson for Steve Nash.

The players chose their own person to induct them into the hall, which really makes me want to hear the story behind Nash choosing Nelson; the rest make sense, but I suspect there's a story to be told on Steve's part - if any readers know the reason, please enlighten me in the comments below.

If you'd like to catch the event, it will be held on Friday, September 7th at Springfield Symphony Hall. For information on tickets, call the Hall of Fame at (413) 231-5513, or visit www.hoophall.com.
