Kawhi Leonard reportedly not interested in Boston

It seems the San Antonio Spurs are not the only team Kawhi Leonard has little interest in playing for.

If Yahoo's Shams Charania is correct, the Boston Celtics are also a team the disgruntled star would prefer to avoid. Of course, according to Shams, it's not on the Spurs level, but, as he recently said on Colin Cowherd's The Herd show, "There's not much interest in the Boston Celtics scenario for him".

While a player of his caliber should probably be pursued regardless of statements like this, any deal Boston might offer will probably reflect this sentiment in not including the team's marquee talent or assets without an extension in hand.

Whatever way the Spurs front office goes, the Los Angeles Lakers ought to be ready to trade for him before the season starts, because even if the Lakers won't sell the farm for Leonard right now, they aren't the only Los Angeles team in the mix for free agency next summer, per Charania:

"One thing that's been made abundantly clear. I'm going to stress this: There's no guarantee if Kawhi Leonard hits the market next summer he's going to sign with the Lakers, period ... I think his options have broadened a little bit. There's another team obviously in L.A. I think he'd be very much open to the Clippers."

More than likely, this is Kawhi's group putting a candle to the feet of the Lakers, but it's not out of the question that Leonard would be keen on building a superteam around himself than living in the shadow of LeBron James.
