Marcus Morris may miss significant time

Boston Celtics' big man Marcus Morris may miss extended time due to a left knee injury. Morris has missed a total of 13 games so far this year, however he usually misses the second game on back-to-backs. This time the Celtics will rest him completely in order to ensure his knee will heal.

This is a blow to a Celtics roster that lacks depth at the power forward position, however it is better to rest him now and have him totally healthy for the playoffs. Reserves such as Daniel Theis, Semi Ojeleye and Guerschon Yabusele will have to step up in his absence.

Morris is averaging 12.1 points, 5.5 boards and 1.6 assists while being the go-to scorer in the second line. With him out, don't be surprised if Theis steps up and takes on Morris' scoring. Theis has proven that he belongs in the NBA and has prevailed during his limited time on the floor. His motor and intensity is his biggest asset which is why he has a knack for rebounds. He also doesn't force shots, instead he waits for the perfect moment, making him a valuable asset to the team.

This sounds like a major loss because the Celtics have a tough schedule ahead of them. However the Celtics are 10-3 with Morris out of the lineup. This injury is not excellent news but Celtics fan shouldn't worry too much.
