Video: Paul Pierce tells Jayson Tatum to fill the blank Celtics banner
Only a handful of guys have ever done more for the team, and none over such a rough stretch. But the Truth gutted it out, and brought home the only banner I was ever old enough to really appreciate. Even still, Pierce feels like he has unfinished business, and after finally coming home to the Celtics this summer, he had a small challenge for the rookie many have proclaimed his second coming, Jayson Tatum:
Fill in the blank banner.
As in Banner 18, the holy grail of Boston sports, our "beyond-the-arc" of the covenant, if you will. Nothing like a Hall of Fame player for the winningest professional basketball franchise in history asking you to add to the banner count to get things started, I suppose.
No pressure, Jayson.
