ESPN Report: Celtics in "serious talks" on trading #1 pick to 76ers

League sources tell @ZachLowe_NBA and me that the Sixers and Celtics are in serious talks on a trade involving the No. 1 overall pick.— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) June 16, 2017
In current parameters, BOS would receive several picks and no players, sources say. Have to think No. 3 would be involved. https://t.co/xHYANlYzeT— Zach Lowe (@ZachLowe_NBA) June 16, 2017
Sources: Philadelphia is waiting on medical information on Markelle Fultz, but deep into talks on acquiring Boston's No. 1 overall pick.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojVerticalNBA) June 16, 2017
Boston would acquire Sixers No. 3 overall pick in 2017 and package to include future first from Sixers, sources say. https://t.co/AK5LyYXnYX— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojVerticalNBA) June 16, 2017
Current iteration, per league sources to @espn, is a package of a draft picks from Philly, including No. 3 overall, to the Celtics for No. 1

If the Celtics are trading the #1 pick for #3, they better be drafting Kevin McHale at #3 and getting Robert Parish in the deal.

Getting the #1 pick and Fultz, but trying to trade it to get something better is like hitting on 19 in blackjack.

You trade the #1 overall pick you better be getting Penny Hardaway and 3 more future 1sts

Key in any #1 for #3 swap would be what other picks are included. Needs to include either unprotected Lakers '18 or unprotected Kings '19

One question remains, who does Danny want at #3?

I feared this would happen. Ainge never does what's expected. You hit the lottery and get the chance to have Fultz lead you for the next 15 years and you want to do something else. That Lakers 2018 pick better be included and it better be unprotected.
