Isaiah Thomas has been studying film with Kobe Bryant...wait, what?!?
Chalk this up under "things I never thought I'd hear": Former Laker, and Boston Celtics nemesis, Kobe Bryant has been helping Isaiah Thomas break down film since the Celtics slid to an 0-2 deficit against the Chicago Bulls in round 1 of the playoffs:
.@Isaiah_Thomas said Kobe Bryant has been helping him film prep before and after games since Game 2 of #Bulls game.— A. Sherrod Blakely (@SherrodbCSN) May 3, 2017
Apparently Kobe reached out to IT after the passing of his sister and then again after the Celtics rocky start to the playoffs with some advice for the C's star point-guard. Here's Isaiah explaining how it went down:

The Celtics have won their last 6 games since Kobe started dropping some knowledge to Isaiah, and beyond the win streak Isaiah has had some huge games not the least of which came last night in the C's 129-119 overtime victory in which Thomas dropped a career-high and almost all-time Celtics playoff record 53 points as he out-dueled John Wall and the Wizards.
There's been a mutual admiration between Kobe and Isaiah going back a few years now, and clearly Bryant sees some similarities of himself and Thomas. He even dubbed him #MightyIT in this exchange with Matt Bonner last night:
Nope. He plays with #MambaMentality but he is now and forever will be known as the #MightyIT https://t.co/tWH8FEH9Lz— Kobe Bryant (@kobebryant) May 3, 2017
Mighty IT, I dig it.
