All-Star Saturday night is finished up and our man Isaiah Thomas put on a good show in the Skills Challenge but he was ultimately eliminated by Utah Jazz small-forward Gordon Hayward in the semifinals. After the contest Isaiah talked to the media about what he's been doing down in New Orleans and besides catching up with friends from around the league he's had the opportunity to meet some of the game's all-time greats as well. He got a chance to meet Michael Jordan on Friday night and the 6-time NBA hampion and undisputed greatest of all time had nothing but praise for IT. Thomas said he hasn't been able to sleep since when asked about it. Via Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe:

“Michael Jordan, I met Michael Jordan,” said Thomas, who was eliminated in the semifinals of the Skills Challenge. “He said he’s been watching. He said keep killing [but] take the night off when you play us but keep doing your thing.

“That’s crazy. I couldn’t sleep [Friday] night when he said that.”

Thomas talked about how inspiring it is to hear from Jordan himself that he's been paying attention to him:

“That was probably the biggest [deal] is to have Michael Jordan say that about me and that he’s taking notice,” Thomas said. “For sure [it motivates me], he’s the greatest player ever. For him to say he’s taking notice in what I’m doing first off lets me know I’m doing something somewhat right and second of all for him to say ‘keep going,’ that’s what I am going to keep doing.”

It's gotta really be something or these players at All-Star Weekend to rub elbows with some of the greatest basketball players to ever play the game, but meeting Jordan has to be on another level entirely. Here's Gary Washburn's video of the whole interview after the Skills Competition where Isaiah talks about losing to Hayward, the Celtics current state, running into Pierce and KG, and the thrill of meeting MJ:

The All-Star game is tonight at 8pm on TNT - really looking forward to seeing Isaiah get some buckets.
