Celtics fill out training camp roster with Jalen Jones and Damian Lee, plus updated team depth chart
Per the NBA's transaction wire, the Celtics have added a pair of bodies to bring their training-camp roster up to the league maximum of 20--Jalen Jones from Texas A&M, and Damion Lee out of Louisville:
Damion Lee was signed to a two year contract, likely with a partial guarantee. He is a undrafted wing from Louisville. Played with MIA in SL— Keith Smith (@KeithSmithNBA) September 14, 2016
Jalen Jones is also a wing who went undrafted from Texas A&M. He got a 1 year deal. Likely a small guarantee to get him to Maine after camp.— Keith Smith (@KeithSmithNBA) September 14, 2016
All this really means is that there will be some confusion next month when coaches yell out "Jaylen," and for the second consecutive preseason the C's will have a "D. Lee" in the box scores.
Jones and Lee join Marcus Georges-Hunt on the short list of "practice squad" type guys with no real chance to make the team. Boston must get down to 15 players before the start of the regular season. Here's an updated roster breakdown and projected depth chart:
