Isaiah Thomas on verge of joining elite all-time Celtics scoring club

Isaiah Thomas' impressive streak of 20-point games ended in Atlanta on Saturday, but tonight he'll have the opportunity to put his name on a very exclusive scoring list in Boston Celtics history.

Thomas has 1,785 points this year and needs just 15 more to reach 1,800.  Only seven different Celtics have ever scored 1,800 or more points in one season: Larry Bird, Paul Pierce, John Havlicek, Antoine Walker, Kevin McHale, Sam Jones and Jo Jo White (this tweet came before Isaiah's 16 points vs. the Hawks):

It's been 10 years since a Celtics player accomplished this feat, most recently Paul Pierce in 2005-06.

Thomas is also sitting on 499 assists at the moment and should get his 500th this evening.  Here's the complete list of Celtics ever to score 1,800 points and dish out 500 assists in a single season:

1. Havlicek
2. Bird

That's it.  Tonight Thomas looks to become No. 3.
