SI's Chris Mannix grades Celtics offseason a B-

The arrival of David Lee headlined Boston's offseason transactions.

Sports Illustrated is compiling a list of offseason grades for each NBA team, one division at a time.  Chris Mannix's assessment of the Atlantic Division was released today.  One might think Mannix, a part-time Celtics studio analyst for CSNNE, would give the C's some hometown love, but instead his evaluation strayed in the other direction.

Boston's B- offseason ranked ahead of only Philadelphia's (C-) in the division, behind those of Toronto (B+), New York (B) and Brooklyn (B).

Mannix picked the Gerald Wallace for David Lee trade as the Celtics' best move of the summer, saying:

Lee will help. Wallace was an afterthought for most of last season while Lee, despite losing his spot in the Warriors rotation to Draymond Green, is still a reliable scorer and rebounder who should be able to play some center in the Eastern Conference.

The biggest compliment Mannix gave to Danny Ainge and company may actually be what he listed as the club's worst move: "N/A" (not available).
