Wizards in "hot pursuit" of Jameer Nelson

Jameer Nelson is the latest Celtic player added to the possible trade list

CSN Washington’s J. Michael is reporting that the Wizards are in “hot pursuit” of Celtics guard Jameer Nelson.

 Nelson, who has made several comments recently about playing time and wanting to take a leadership role, is making $2.732MM this season and has a player option worth $2.8 next season, could be the target for Washington’s open roster spot.



Despite insisting that he and the Celtics front office are on the same page, he is upset with his playing time and expected to negotiate a buyout; a move that was mentioned immediately upon being traded to Boston in mid-December.


As reported by the Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn, Nelson will remain on the Inactive List for tonight’s game against the Indiana Pacers.
