Celtics expected to make a big push for Gordon Hayward

The Utah Jazz are reportedly anticipating "large offers" for 24 year old small forward Gordon Hayward from Boston, Charlotte and Phoenix.

Of course, Hayward has ties to Celtics coach Brad Stevens from their remarkably successful days at Butler. Nevertheless, as MassLive.com's Jay King reports, the Jazz intend to match any contract offer Hayward receives. King also adds that the Suns "could be prepared to extend a maximum deal," thus minimizing the chances of seeing Hayward in green.

Hayward averaged 16.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.2 assists last season. While the Celtics' best chances of acquiring Hayward would be via sign and trade, the Jazz must obviously be willing to part with him--which looks unlikely.

While the draft is now complete, NBA free agency has yet to begin. The craziness is not over, and maybe there indeed are fireworks yet to come.
