Toronto Sun insinuates Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett are as old as dinosaurs, Pierce comes up clutch

Toronto has been doing a bit of trash talking. Not just the Raptors fans, but their media and front office personnel as well.

Saturday's Toronto Sun had a large picture of Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, claiming that "they are so old, the Raptor had to ask his dad about them." This must have fueled Pierce, as he dropped 9 points in the 4th quarter (15 points total), coming up clutch as The Truth usually does come playoff time. Other high scorers for Brooklyn included Deron Williams and Joe Johnson (24 points each).

The Nets came out victorious, 94-87, and take a 1-0 lead in the series. Game 2 will be in Toronto on Tuesday.

When answering some post-game questions, Pierce let on that he did in fact know about the cover:

In addition to the Toronto Sun displaying its anti-Brooklyn sentiment, Raptors GM Masai Ujiri was caught on video screaming "f#$k Brooklyn." Video below from steve_class1c on Instragram.

Keep it coming, Toronto. You're only giving the Nets more blackboard material. And knowing Pierce and Garnett, it's helping inspire them rather than hurting them.
