Report: Pistons considering Celtics' Mike Zarren for their new GM

From CSNNE's A. Sherrod Blakely:

Mike Zarren, the Celtics' well-respected, numbers-crunching, assistant general manager, is again under consideration for another job. He is among the early names to surface for the soon-to-be vacant GM job with the Detroit Pistons. Longtime Pistons GM Joe Dumars will not have his contract renewed this summer as the Pistons failed to make the playoffs for the fifth consecutive season.

Last spring the Suns poached Boston's AGM Ryan McDonough, and he went on to capture NBA general manager of the year honors in the CelticsLife writer's season ending awards poll.

Zarren previously turned down an offer to be the 76ers' GM eleven months ago.
