Celtics beat Kings 99-89 in a battle of the bigs

The Celtics defeated the Kings 99-89 in a game dominated by big men.

There were plenty of players out of Friday's game with Rajon Rondo sitting due to fatigue, Avery Bradley nursing a bum ankle and Rudy Gay out with the flu.

The story of the game was the play of Jared Sullinger. Sullinger had a tough matchup with DeMarcus Cousins, but Sullinger more than met the challenge. While the win may sting for those looking for losses, it was a great sign by Sullinger who took on a top-5 guy at a position Sullinger doesn't play.

Sullinger had 31 points and 16 rebounds, Jerryd Bayless had 19 points, Kelly Olynyk had 11 points and nine rebounds and Jeff Green had 17 points for Boston (18-33). Gerald Wallace also had himself a game with eight points nine assists and 12 rebounds.

For Sacremento (17-33), Cousins also had 31 points and 16 rebounds, Isaiah Thomas had 24 points and Derrick Williams had 11 points and 12 rebounds.

The Celtics' next game is Sunday against Dallas.
