Paul Pierce To Miss 2-4 Weeks

Don't look now, but there appears to be more bad news coming out of Brooklyn. According to Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski, Paul Pierce is expected to miss 2-4 weeks with a broken right hand. The injury occurred during the Net's Friday Night Game against the Houston Rockets which they lost because they're the Nets and that's what they do. The injury will force Pierce to miss his first game against the Celtics on December 10th against the Boston Celtics

Julian Edlow's take:

Pierce has been miserable so far this season, scoring 12.4 PPG while shooting a career worst 36.8% from the field. This setback can't be helpful to his season or the Nets' season.

With virtually every starter battling some sort of injury besides Joe Johnson, the Nets are going to need to rely heavily on their bench if they want to work their way into the playoff picture. And when they do get healthy they are going to need MUCH higher production from their starters than they have been receiving.

Do you guys think the Nets have it in them to make a push? Or is the Pierce injury going to be the straw that broke the camels back?
