All of us remember James Posey for his heroics during his one and only season with the Celtics in 2007-08. Posey played a vital role during the quest for banner 17. He brought championship pedigree, and a strong presence off the bench that proved to be crucial during big games during the playoffs.

Who will ever forget when Posey poked the ball away from Tayshaun Prince in game six of the Eastern Conference Finals in 2008? What about the four three-pointers in game four of the NBA Finals, when the Celtics erased a 22 point deficit? I don't think any of us will ever forget the man that gave his teammates pregame hugs.

Posey, 36, spent just one season in Boston (2007-08) before leaving as a free agent. But with his unselfish, hard-nosed playing style, the former Xavier Musketeer quickly became a fan favorite at the TD Garden. Posey had a tradition of hugging each Celtics starter prior to games, speaking words of encouragement into his teammates' ears.

"James is a proven winner who will be a valuable asset for Coach Hetzel and our organization this season,” Cavaliers director of D-League operations Mike Gansey said in a press release. “He enjoyed a long, productive NBA career and his experiences will be valuable teachings to our players.”

I'm sure you guys remember that Posey was considered for an assistant role with the Celtics. That job went to Walter McCarty.I wish Posey the best of luck ,and hopefully he'll make his way up to the NBA.
