Free agent Greg Oden close to signing, and not with Boston

Marc J. Spears reports a league source has told Yahoo! that Greg Oden will decide within the week where he intends to play next season:
"Oden, 25, has received varying contract offers from the Miami Heat, Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks, New Orleans Pelicans, San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks, a source said. All deals are pending Oden passing a physical. Oden worked out and rehabbed in front of the Kings, Pelicans and Heat in his hometown of Indianapolis on Tuesday. The 90-minute session included drill work, post play and running."

In a web chat this afternoon, Fox Sports' Sam Amico had this to say about possible destinations for Oden:
"I think he ends up in Miami. And you know, I've actually heard nothing to this point. I'll look into it today. I really think he should go to the Kings. He'd get more of a chance and they could probably pay him more."

Amico also isn't very optimistic about the comeback chances of the former #1 overall pick, who hasn't played in an NBA game since 2010:

Personally I'm not so sure.  I think Oden desperately wants to return and prove all the doubters wrong.  On the other had, Andrew Bynum may well by a sneaky basketball hating genius who never intends to suit up again.
