At a recent golf fundraiser, WEEI interviewed Boston Celtics GM Danny Ainge and asked about whether he believed Rajon Rondo was the best point guard in the league.

Danny replied: "The way he played in the playoffs I thought was pretty incredible. He proved that he's the best player on the team, and he's a guy who has earned the respect of his teammates and coaches. I think that's a big step. We're excited for him this year. He's worked really hard this summer as well."

When Doc Rivers spoke about Rondo, he said: "He's gotten better and better, obviously. Now he's one of the better point guards in the league. I think what he wants to be is more consistent all the time -- just a guy that is a dominant player every night. I think that's his next big step."
