Add another name to the ever-expanding list of Kevin Garnett’s critics. Hawks rookie forward Ivan Johnson became the latest to join the chorus this afternoon after Hawks practice.
“Garnett, he’s a dirty player,” Johnson said. “He gives me a lot of elbows and I can handle that.”
Johnson said he expected that Garnett and the Celtics would attempt to do things to incite a reaction.
“I was prepared for that,” Johnson said. “I already knew how KG was going to come at me. They’re a whole bunch of mess-talkers.”
“I know we’re not going to fight on the court,” Johnson said. “I can handle it. I can take some hits. I try not to (give hits) because I’m usually the one that gets caught.”
Look Ivan "Terrible at Basketball" Johnson, you of the 6 points and 4 rebounds per game average, you of the getting kicked out of the Korean League for being a dick. Why don't you go open up your mini fridge in your Motel 6 room, grab that pitcher in there, and pour yourself a tall glass of shut the fuck up.
We know other teams don't like the Celtics. We know other big men hate playing vs. Garnett. We know KG takes each game as a bar fight and will do what he needs to win. We know the team as a whole are cocky mofos. You're not saying anything new.
What you might have just done is given the team the extra motivation/kick in the ass to steal game 2 in Atlanta without Rondo. So thanks for that. When you're out of the league in a couple years and thinking about this, maybe you'll regret opening up your dumb trap. My guess is you still won't have figured it out. JR 4/30/2012 10:01:00 PM Tweet
