I mentioned this before, that David Stern isn't calling the shots here. The hardline owners are, and Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver who is the "lead negotiator" is catering to these owners. Hopefully Stern is able to wrangle out a deal, but if it doesn't get done and the finger pointing commences, he shouldn't be the main target.

For more on the next commissioner, Adam Silver: Will the NBA be in worse hands once Stern retires?

Stern is far from a likeable guy but I am starting to realize who has done more for the league than people like to give him credit for.

  2. Jenda says:

He's far from likeable and messed the league up big time but I'm starting to get really scared what happens when he's gone.

I can't blame Stern. Nor can I blame the owners. But I can definitely blame Derek Fisher. Maybe even Rasheed Wallace a bit too.

  4. JR says:

Good call WShaw and Jenda. Lol TB. Rasheed totally gets some blame. ;)

  5. Jenda says:

Haha, true. What kind of mess would it have to be if Rasheed wasn't to blame.
