And they've chosen once again NO DEAL.

RealGM
"Nothing was worked out today," said Stern.

Stern advised the media not to read much into the situation both for optimism or pessimism.

Derek Fisher addressed the media following Stern.

"We won't be able to elaborate on any details or any significant progress being made," said Fisher. "We can't say significant progress was made, but we'll meet tomorrow at 12:00."

Fisher said he "hopes to be able to finish this out" on Thursday.

"Obviously, we'd have a deal done if the right flexibility was being shown," added Fisher.

According to Billy Hunter, talks can continue for several more days.
This is obviously better than what could have happened today, with the NBA pulling it's 50/50 offer and going back to their complete bend over offer, but with that said, we've been through this song and dance way too many times. Agree to something already.

  1. I have a feeling there will be no agreement until January.

    That picture is hysterical.

I still can't believe that public opinion hasn't turned on Stern. Somehow people believe it's simply owners vs players, but I think Stern plays a much bigger role than anybody knows. He's created the divide in the first place and he has done everything possible (including fining the heat owner 500k) to unify the owners against the players.

The players aren't much better in my eyes either though, although I will not and cannot imagine ever siding with billionaires on anything. Sorry but just because you own the team doesn't mean you get to take home a bigger piece of the pie 'just cuz'. I'd be willing to bet that outside of a fans' favorite team, most people wouldn't be able to name more than 5 owners.

Another thing too, without getting into too much of a rant here. I know that someone wrote a piece a while back about how the Heat owner is basically screwing over the Miami community because he got such a good deal on the stadium lease in Miami. He's basically not paying enough taxes and giving back to the community for the simple fact that when he bought the team the Heat sucked and now that they're good he's not willing to renegotiate.
