ESPN
Scottie Pippen had a front-row seat to watch Miami's LeBron James help oust the Chicago Bulls from the playoffs, and the Hall of Famer believes James might supplant Pippen's former running mate Michael Jordan as the greatest player ever.

"Michael Jordan is probably the greatest scorer to play the game," Pippen said Friday on "Mike & Mike In The Morning" on ESPN Radio. "But I may go as far as to say LeBron James may be the greatest player to ever play the game because he is so potent offensively that not only can he score at will but he keeps everybody involved.
Can the Bulls get a refund on that statue they just made for Pippen?

Michael Jordon was also Defense player of the year and lead the league in Steals.

LeBron is great but not on Jordon's level. Jordon could contort, twist and switch hands and so crazy crazy shit. He was far more polished offensively, LeBron can go quiet if his shots aren't falling.

Hahaha and TB was making fun of Pat Ewing for not getting a Head Coach job. This is what true bitterness looks like. How does it feel to live off your picture as MJ's second man while MJ has his own team now?
(And since I've read Karl's piece with the mentioning of Dunking Donuts:) Hurts, don't it? (read this one out loud, it kinda works)

Pippen getting sensitive on twitter busts out the "I played you didn't line"
www.twitter.com/scottiepippen "For all of you that don't know , I played the game you keep watching and cheering."

Scottie you made all your money off those people watching and cheering so you really need to stfu.

I don't have an opinion on who's better or not, really don't care.

All that said, knowing how ppl feel about MJ, where Pippen came from, who he played with, and the fact that he is now a Chicago Bulls team ambassador. I just think it was a little foolish to make that statement. Yes we all are entitled to our opinions and feelings. It's just smarter to sometimes look at your situation and say, maybe I should keep this one to myself.

It's really hard to say what exactly Lebron will end up being. He is still quite young despite many years in the league. The sky is still the limit. Maybe he wins this year, next and a third and this beomes a real debate? MJ was certainly the best individual player I have seen. You can make a good case for Russ, Larry, Magic, Oscar, Wilt and maybe even Kareem as the 'best all time' and I certainly wouldnt argue much with MJ as the best either.

I do think though that Lebron has a chance to go down in history at least in that converstation. It's hard to picture him being better then MJ but you never know. Lebron does many, many things very well. If he can develop that killer instinct and combine with a player of Pippen's caliber you never know!
