Around 3:00 Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports was coming out about Rajon Rondo making the team, but we would have to wait until 7:00 to hear the rest...

Well here it is. The Boston Celtics will be sending Rajon Rondo, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, AND Ray Allen to Los Angeles for the 2011 NBA All-Star game!

Here's some statistics for Gang Green:

Rajon Rondo- 10.6 PPG, 12.5 APG, 4.5 RPG, 2.4 SPG.

Ray Allen- 17.3 PPG, 3.0 APG, 3.8 RPG.

Paul Pierce- 19.1 PPG, 3.3 APG, 5.0 RPG, 1.0 SPG.

Kevin Garnett- 15 PPG, 2.3 APG, 9.0 RPG, 1.7 SPG.

Coach Doc Rivers will be coaching 4 of his players in the All-Star Game. He said that he expects to play the four together, and joked that the 5th player on the court will be whoever is closest to free agency. It's official Boston will once again take over Los Angeles.

I live so close to Staples Center, I wish I was going to the All Star game to see the C's play. Way too expensive for me right now. Damn.

  2. .chuckT. says:

Shaq had the 2nd most votes for the East Center position..
I guess votes dont mean anything at the end of the day.
But still excited that the Celtics will be well represented in the All Star game! Especially with Doc leading the charge!

Get that W Eastern All Stars! Rondo for All Star MVP!!

    Great to hear!

good stuff, they all deserved it

  5. JR says:

Would have been shameful if Ray didn't make it.

Regarding Shaq, would have been equally shameful if he did make it. Starter votes are simply a popularity contest (thus the Yao selection).

So 4 celtics, 3 Heat and 2 Hawks to go with Rose, Howard and A'mare

  6. @JR

Starters votes are definitely a popularity contest, but there really isn't a single center in the entire Western Conference that deserves to be the Starter. A lot of Power forwards that deserve to make it in as well... but the center is a weak position out west.

  7. Kevin Duckworth says:

The center position has been weak for awhile, probably since I left the league.

  8. JR says:

lol at Kevin Duckworth. Better to play a guy like Gasol at center than pick some undeserving player imo. Also, Duncan should have been a center all these yrs on the ballot.

  9. Agree with Tim Duncan as center.

  10. Three Toe says:

I know Doc can't do this, especially cause he coaches the celtics, but just in terms of trying to win the game, I would start the 4 celtics. Who's going to play better: 4/5 of the starters on the best team in the east, possibly the best team in the NBA that have been on the same page for the past 2.5 years, or 5 variously-talented guys thrown together for a night?

Cheers green gang!!! Y' all deserve all star!!!

About shaq,i think its a fantasy weekend and people are looking for a spectacular game, and diesel is kinda slow motion, no offence . . .

  12. This will be the first ASG in years I may actually watch...
