In my opinion this was the biggest win of the season for the Celtics. In a battle of the NBA's best Rajon Rondo had his best performance since coming back from injury recording a triple double with 12 points, 10 rebounds, 6 steals, and 22 assists. Just an amazing human being.  Ray Allen was brillant as well despite the two missed free throws at the end, scoring 31 points on 13-16 from the field. Big Baby Davis continued his quest for 6th man of the year with 23 points including some huge shots in the 4th quarter. The guy is just a flat out scoring machine.  Off the bench I thought Nate and Marquis played well. Even Jermaine O'Neal put some good minutes in.

The Spurs looked pretty good. They seem to have a knack for finding random solid role players(where did Gary Neal come from)? Duncan scored 18 points but wasn't a real factor in the game. Ginobli was shut down all game until the end when he caught on fire. He got torched by Ray all day on the defensive end.  That guy scares me though and is not someone I want with the ball in his hands at the end of games. Matt Bonner played pretty well and is officially the best red head in the NBA right now(sorry Scal).

The end of the game was kind of ridiculous. The fact that there was no foul called on the steal against Rondo was borderline criminal.  Still, Ray needs to make at least 1 of those free throws. He was incredible the rest of the game and has been clutch throughout his Celtics career so I'll give him a pass. Great play by Pierce at the end to seal it. He has been so clutch this year.

Overall a great win for the Celtics. They seem to always step up and play their best against the best teams and that is really all that matters at the end of the day. This team is going to be scary good with Perk, Delonte, and KG back. Looking forward to another win on Friday.

Did anyone notice how similar Bonner and Luke's shot are? Role model?

    Nice try Stern!

  6. Did they count that last one as a rebound? Nice.

  7. I would change the stat but blogger has decided not to let me edit posts right now. Sorry!

Yeah, except Bonner's shots go in. Luke doesnt seem to be able to shoot for his life.

  9. Jenda says:

Not true, last anon. He's actually a pretty good shooter from midrange and from beyond the arc. Do not forget he's still a rookie, two or three years into the league and he'll find his stroke.

Even though his shooting style is a bit unorthodox.

  11. Okay, blogger decided to work. It's recorded as a triple double now. Great win!

Your right. It was the best game of the Celtics this year.

After this game, the Spurs doesn´t scare me anymore. We fought them down, even with missing big pieces of our roster. Now we have to prove us (en february) against Dallas, Miami and Orlando.

And, let´s be real, after this tripple double, Rondo should be in the group (1-3) for the MVP crown.

Incredible game. Insane team play. Well-earned victory.

Yea, Luke is gonna have to re-prove his jump shot. What is he like 0 for 20 taking jump shots? he can lay it up and he used to be able to shoot, but the primetime NBA is not college, nor the D-league. It's a much more difficult task.

Awesome win, I thought we had it in the bag when baby took that late charge, but man did the spurs make it interesting. yikes. thank god for blocked shots!

  14. I just hope you and your gf are still together Three Toe. I better be invited to the wedding.
