Celtics get much needed win in KG's return

The Celtics held on for a much needed victory last night in Boston against a talented Trailblazers team. KG was rusty in his return, but played a pretty solid game for being out so long.  His mere presence lifted the team and you could sense a renewed energy on the court. The biggest impact KG makes is that it allows the rotation to get back to normal. Now Sheed can head up the second unit and Boston can get back to a solid nine man rotation.  When Marquis is back the Celtics will have a pretty decent bench to throw at teams.

Rondo had another great game but what else do you expect from this guy. He brings it every night and is a superstar in this league.  Pierce had a solid game as well, but he needs to get more shots. Lately he's had great first quarters then we go away from him.  Ray had another subpar game but as usual was clutch when we needed him. That three he hit might be one of the biggest shots the Celtics have hit all season.

I was impressed with Sheed last night as well. He still shoots too many threes, but showed a willingness to go down low. I think the return of KG is going to limit Perk's shots considerably, but I think that is a good thing. Perk is not yet at the point where Boston should run plays for him. Frankly, we don't need much of anything offensively from him. If he keeps rebounding and blocking shots that is enough.

I love Eddie House. I really hope we keep this guy for a long time because you really can't measure what he does for this team. Everytime he hits a three it's like he hits 2 threes because it energizes everyone around him.  He is the definition of an energy guy and every successful team needs one.

I was impressed with this Blazers team, especially with Roy and Oden out.  If they were healthy they could challenge the Lakers in the West. Lamarcus Aldridge is a beast and Martel Webster and Rudy Fernandez are talented young players.  I think they could give some teams problems in the playoffs with Roy back.

Garnett's return couldn't have come at a better time for the Celtics. You could just sense the whole team was more confident when he was on the court.  I also thought he was running pretty well for his first game back. His timing was off with his jumping but that will come back. This is a huge week coming up for the Celtics but with KG on the court I think we have a chance on any given night.
