The trade rumors swirling around Nate Robinson had appeared to calm down in recent weeks, but Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports has reported today during an interview with Tanguay and Zolak on 98.5 The Sports Hub in Boston, that he has knowledge that the C’s have made an offer to the Knicks for the ever controversial guard Nate Robinson...

Spears did seem to institute that a 1st round draft pick was…or will have to be part of any offer for Robinson from the C’s to make any kind of move worth the Knicks while. My question for Celtics fans is would you be willing to deal that pick for Robinson, along with an potentially useful expiring contract (TA, Eddie, etc.) for Robinson.

Hmm. Many people love to hate Nate, and I've never been a fan, but for a first round pick he might be worth the gamble. He can create his own shot, which is something Eddie can't do off the bench. He is also a better ball handler. Expect nothing to come of this rumor, but stranger things have happened. Stay tuned...

Trade a first round draft pick for an expiring contract? djeez no ! I know he is good but we should keep our first round picks.

Why won't this rumor just die already!

I don't see how he fits whatsoever.

In the words of Charles Barkley "This is turrible"

    "First of all..."

Why not? He could help a lot. I personally don't like his personality and all that, but basketball-wise he would be good for us

  7. There is something strangely disturbing about that picture. Not sure what it is. Granted Nate could help the Celtics, but I don't like him.

We've read about this for some time now. I think we could say it's not a rumor anymore but a real attempt by Danny to improve our bench. I wonder if something will get done soon. At least we can see that DA is active looking for upgrades

"In case you missed it, Alan Hahn, Newsday’s excellent Knicks beat reporter, filed a brief update on the Nate Robinson situation last night.

Per Hahn: “We got indications tonight that the two sources have, indeed, talked, but according to one source there is nothing yet happening.”

Hahn reports that Robinson would accept a deal to Boston because it would guarantee he receives the $1 million playoff bonus built into his one-year deal. (Robinson has veto power over any deal because of his status as a soon-to-be free agent with Bird rights playing on a one-year contract. Hahn reports that Nate Rob has already vetoed a deal that would have sent him to the Grizz in exchange for ex-UConn point guard Marcus Williams, since the Grizz aren’t exactly a post-season lock).

The Knicks, Hahn speculates, would most likely want Tony Allen, Eddie House or Marquis Daniels in any Nate trade. He also outlines the difficulties in making a Nate/Boston deal, which I went through here. The deal becomes easier if you introduce a third team with cap room, which would almost have to be Memphis. But the Grizzlies sudden status as a playoff contender (and not a lottery-bound also-ran) complicates that, as well."

a straight up trade for Tony Allen I might consider. I would hope they wouldn't trade Eddie or Marquis for him, that would be foolish.
