Rajon Rondo is the best player on the Celtics, and it really isn't even close. The Big 3 are on the downside of their careers, and with the exception of maybe Pierce, can't dominate games night in and night out. Rondo is the most important player on this team and brings it every night. He's also in my opinion the most fun player to watch in the NBA.

The whole “should he be an All Star" debate is a joke. The real question is, should he be an MVP candidate? Besides maybe Chris Paul and Nasty Nash, he is the best point guard in the league, and probably better than both of them defensively. Sure the Celtics have really good players around him, but they've been hurt half the season. Also, has anyone considered that maybe the Big 3 are good because of Rajon, not just the other way around. It takes a certain point guard to make this work, and Rajon is perfect.

The way he commands the court is unparalleled in the league. His ball handling is exceptional and his ability to take the ball to the basket and finish is right up there with the elite finishers in the NBA. Let's not forget that this guy is 23 years old! Yes, for all the people that debated his contract, if there are any left, remember he is 23 years old and only going to get better. We got this guy for cheap as far as I'm concerned. With him at the helm, at least we will be competitive after the Big 3 retires.

Does he have flaws? Of course he does. His jump shot is still average at best, and he's still under 60% from the free throw line. The important thing is that he is improving and that is all you can ask for in a player. Also his attitude has been questioned, but think about this. What if you knew you were the best player on a team and all anyone talked about was how good your teammates were. Big 3 this, Big 3 that. I love Garnett, Pierce, and Ray as much as anyone, but Rondo is better than all of them. Perk and Rondo deserve to be a little pissed off that they are so overlooked.

All of us that bleed Celtics Green know how good Rondo is. I just hope someday soon the country recognizes the unique talent that is Rajon Rondo. Go Celtics!

Couldn't agree with you more, Karl. One more amazing skill is his passing ability with his left hand. The only guy better I've seen is Nash.

With the cap space teams are clearing for this summer, the possibility that most of the big names will stay with their present teams, and the season Rondo is having along with his age and potential - that signing is looking like a bargain.

Based on his play this year, I could of envisioned NY or NJ opening up the bank for Rajon after the Lebrons and Wades turn them down. I would have liked to have signed Rondo last Spring for even less, but I'm very glad they signed him now instead of waiting. Now let's extend Perk.

I love Rondo and in addition to the team as a whole...Rondo is younger and making a name for himself as a Celtic and Pro Ball Player, overall the team is put together very well awesome starting line up and a awesome bench...I think all players go through the "player to watch" phase it time and as long as you bring your heart to every game your respect and influence will always remain with your team and with the sport...

    Love the Celtics!

Forget the debate about whether or not Rondo is an all-star..That's an absolute yes (he should be starting). The question is he an all-pro. In my mind, without a doubt. If he doesn't make the All-NBA second team (behind Nash) that will be an outrage..Also, he should make the All-NBA defensive first team. This kid is without a doubt the most exciting player to watch on the Celtics, and one of the most exciting in the NBA..
