The game itself was disappointing in the first half. The Celtics lacked energy and couldn't hit a shot to save their life. However, it picked up steam in the second and turned out to be an extremely entertaining game. Paul Pierce started off slow, but was dominant in the 4th quarter as he usually is. I truly believe he is one of the best closers in the NBA. I thought Perk played a great game as well, controlling the glass and finishing around the basket. He also managed to keep his cool despite some ridiculous foul calls.
With the absence of KG, Rasheed started and did a good job on the glass, collecting 13 rebounds. It's really a shame he doesn't do that every game. The benching of Sheldon Williams continues to confuse me. The guy plays well every time he's in there, and we need all the help we can get off the bench, especially in a game without KG. I love my red headed brother Scal, but Sheldon is just a better player than him.
This game should never have been this close but it was a good win regardless. The Celtics showed a lot of heart coming back from 15 down, and made big shots when it mattered. The crowd was amazing and you could feel the energy reverberate through the stadium. I love going to basketball games because there really is no such thing as a bad seat.
The only bad thing about the game was not being able to buy beer. Apparently they won't sell beer to people with out of state licenses under the age of 25. If anyone can explain to me the logic in this please let me know. Anyway, if you haven't been to Banknorth yet this year you should get tickets immediately. Watching the game on TV is great, but if you are a hardcore Celtics fan there is nothing like being there live. Karl Dillinger 12/23/2009 12:49:00 PM Tweet
