And the 1st coach to get canned is...

"I still tell people I bleed purple and gold, no matter what. And I always will." That was Byron Scott a couple days ago. Today Scott is unemployed. Not a huge surprise as it seems Byron Scott lost this Hornets team sometime last year. They lost by 58 points at home in a playoff game even. The mess in Charlotte New Orleans isn't all Scott's fault. They've been mismanaged since their Charlotte days. Their owner is rather sketchy and their personnel moves have been shaky to say the best. You have to feel bad for CP3 some as he is essentially an Isiah Thomas talent, but instead of playing with Dumars, Aguire, Rodman, Laimbeer, etc, he plays with Mo Pete, Peja, Bobby Brown, Devin Brown, etc.  They sell their draft pick one year and then a starting swingman the next (Rasual Butler). Only bright side is I guess selling your pick is better than drafting J.R. Giddens. The players they have invested in, Peja and Posey, are on the downside of their careers.  Unless someone is willing to take those two contracts off the Hornets hands or trade for Omeka "I won't play if I have a hang nail" Okafor, there really is no way for the Hornets to improve. Maybe Marc Gasol will turn into his brother (he's playing pretty well this year) and Chris Wallace will gift wrap him to the Hornets with Rudy Gay. Otherwise the only hope the Hornets have is if somehow Okafor starts playing to his potential and players like Julian Wright make the leap.
