Listen: What would it take to get Kawhi to Boston?

We know, we know - you're sick of trade proposals that are almost certain not to happen.

Or, perhaps you're not - but with news that Kawhi Leonard has formally requested a trade from the San Antonio Spurs, whether we want them or not, trade fantasies have become quite de rigeur after rumbles about Kyrie Irving and LeBron James have been combined with this new offseason wrinkle.

Personally, I just want to re-sign Marcus Smart and Aron Baynes, shore up the depth with some good minimum contract guys and a mid-level exception, and get on to seeing what last season's squad can do when actually healthy, as I suspect it's quite a lot.

We can always revisit trade scenarios in earnest if the group underperforms or hits a chemistry roadblock, but after what I saw last season (it still feels weird saying that), I very much doubt we'll need to make a major move to contend.

It's a great position to be in, and as a "if it's not broken, don't fix it" believer, I'm mainly into these rumors because it at least gives us something to occupy an otherwise-slow month in the basketball calendar.

However, if you MUST have your Kawhi analysis before we have a chance to talk on next week's CL Pod about it (or he gets dealt, whichever comes first), check out the pod below by the folks over at NBC Boston - they've got some feels you might want to hear about.
