Celtics sign Kansas standout Landen Lucas to Summer League

The Boston Celtics signed former Kansas center Landen Lucas to a Summer League contract this weekend.

Lucas, who averaged 8 points and 8.3 boards per game in his final season with the Jayhawks, declared for but was not drafted in the 2017 NBA Draft, and signed with Boston's Summer League team after considering offers from four other teams. Odds are very high he will not parlay that into a roster spot, but with players like Jayson Tatum and Ante Zizic appearing with the Celts this summer, it may help raise the prospect's profile for an overseas gig likely to pay much more than he'll earn in the NBA G League.
