It was a (Gerald) Green Christmas in New York

Gerald Green has been buried deep in the depth chart for most of the season, but Christmas day, the forward was gifted some minutes off the bench. A gift that Brad Stevens says everyone was able to enjoy, via Sherrod Blakely of CSNNE:

“Gerald turned the game around with his energy,” Stevens told reporters after the win. “We were a little slow out of the gate that first quarter, just to the ball, just to plays. And when Gerald came in and made a couple of offensive (plays) he got everybody going.”

Green tallied eight points in 12 minutes and knocked down two three-pointers. His role in the second quarter helped spur the run to give the C's the lead for most of the game. Not only was he a contributor on the offensive end, but also made his presents (yes I spelled that wrong on purpose) felt on the defensive end as well. Green stuffed the stat sheet with one steal, block, and dished out an assist to Jae Crowder in the second frame during the run. The key to his game? Always being ready to go when coach calls his number:

Green logged his most minutes in over a month, and he clearly enjoyed the opportunity to hit the hardwood on Christmas day:
