Report: Celtics 'dangling' picks 16 and 28 to move into lottery

Via Gery Woelfel of The Journal Times:
It’s hardly a secret a slew of teams, including several lottery ones, are exploring potential trades. One team that is making a concerted effort to move into the lottery, league sources claim, is Boston. The Celtics are dangling their two No. 1 picks: Nos. 16 and 28.

A couple things: I'm not sure exactly who Woelfel's "league sources" are, but considering he writes for a paper in Racine, Wisconsin, I'd be willing to bet there isn't actually any new information here since the last time we heard similar reports about the C's interest in moving up in the draft.

The question is, would the 16th and 28th picks be enough to get a lottery selection in return?  Probably, but it depends on how high in the lottery, which goes all the way up to No. 14.  As Mass Live's Jay King notes, in 2013 Boston dealt the 16th pick and two future second-rounders to get Kelly Olynyk at No. 13.

However, considering the lack of top prospects the C's have brought in for workouts to this point, they don't necessarily appear all that interested in trading up.
