Celtics to play regular season game in Mexico City

From Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald:
According to sources, the Celts will meet the Sacramento Kings in a regular season game in Mexico City in November or December. The Kings will be the home team, meaning the C's will still have 41 regular season dates at TD Garden.

This will be the third international game for the Boston Celtics next season, as they will also play preseason exhibitions against local teams from Milan, Italy and Madrid, Spain as well.

According to Bulpett, the team hasn't decided whether they'll hold a training camp in Milan or wait until the game approaches to travel to Italy. If they do choose to make the trip overseas early they'll have a good tour guide in Luigi Datome (if he's still with Boston).

Here's a shot of a young Datome taking a jumper during an All Star Game in Milan back in 2011.

Last November, the Houston Rockets defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves in a regular season game played in Mexico City.

The Celtics have played games in Rome and London, before the 2007-08 championship season, and also participated in games in Instanbul and Milan in 2012. The C's have used these international trips to build team chemistry and success before, and they will try to do so again next season.
