No Isaiah, No Problem; Celtics defeat Grizzlies 95-92

The Boston Celtics defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 95 to 92 tonight at the TD Garden. The C’s came out and gave the Grizz everything they had, defeating one of the elite teams in the Western Conference. Isaiah Thomas was out for tonight’s contest with a bad back/tailbone, and was actually ruled out for all of this weekend’s contests as well. Former Celtic Jeff Green made his debut at the Garden since being traded to Memphis over a month ago, no tribute video for Uncle Jeff on the jumbotron though. Biggest win of the season for the Celtics? I think so.

The Celtics hustled and bustled their way to the win tonight, using toughness and heart to beat out a considerably better basketball team. Avery Bradley made a huge bucket with the clock winding down, giving us a 3-point lead and Memphis a chance for one final possession. Mike Conley launched 3-pointer which was wide of the rim, sealing the Celtic victory.

Bradley was the leading scorer for the Cs with 17 points, while Jae Crowder also played extremely well chipping in a solid 16. Mike Conley is pure filth; he came back from a badly sprained ankle and continued to dominate. Conley finished with 20 points and 3 assists, putting the team on his back for stretches. Tony Allen was all over the place defensively and cleaned up some offensive put backs. Allen finished 7/9 from the field notching 16 points.

The C's next game is Friday night versus the Magic at home, tune into CSNE at 7:30PM for tip-off.
