Jared Sullinger out indefinitely

The Celtics received some bad news on Thursday night as they prepare to start a big west coast road trip tomorrow in Sacramento, Jared Sullinger will be out indefinitely with a foot injury:

Sullinger has stress reaction to fourth metatarsal on left foot. Out indefinitely.

Sullinger believed pain in his foot was just a sprain of some sorts. Hoped it'd pass over break. Practiced yesterday, and it became worse.

The injury hurts the C's big time as they make a push for the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference playoff race:

But maybe some positive news, as surgery won't be needed:

Sullinger was asked if he will need surgery. "Hell no."

This injury is a bummer. Sullinger was really starting to play some inspired basketball. In the last five games, he was averaging 18.4 points per game, and grabbing 9.2 rebounds per in that span.

Let's all say a quick prayer that this foot injury doesn't cause Sullinger to pack on some extra pounds.
