Brian Scalabrine says all Celtics need is 'one really good center' (or maybe even just an OK one?)

In a recent interview with WEEI, Celtics commentator Brian Scalabrine shared a very positive outlook on the team's immediate future:

The Celtics are one really good center away. And I'm talking about a guy who can plug the lane or roll down the lane, get the ball from Rondo and rise up. This team has Jared Sullinger and Kelly Olynyk, two really good stretch 4's that also rebound and defend their position. But if you add a 5 to the mix — a Steven Adams type or Omer Asik — this team goes from fighting to make the playoffs to a team fighting for home-court advantage

Now if by "really good" Scal meant Joakim Noah, Dwight Howard or Anthony Davis, I think many C's fans might be inclined to believe him.  But Steven Adams or Omer Asik?  I'm not even sure those guys qualify as "above average" as far as NBA big men go.

As much as I'd love to share in Scal's optimism, somebody like Steven Adams is not about to make Boston a potential top-four team in the East.  Although I doubt many people agree that the Celtics as is will be "fighting to make the playoffs" anyway.
