KG and Pierce come up huge in Brooklyn's game 7 win over Toronto

The Brooklyn Nets survived a furious fourth quarter rally by Toronto to advance to the second round where they will face the defending world champion Miami Heat.

Celtic Hall of Famers Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce both came up huge in the Brooklyn win.

In the first half Garnett had 8 points and 5 rebounds in just 12 mins including a couple of signature jump shots.

Most importantly, the Nets were +12 with the Big Ticket on the floor.

Pierce had 10 pts in the half including two big threes as the Nets lead 61-53 at the intermission.

The second half did not go as smoothly for the Nets as Pierce picked up his fourth foul early in the third. He also picked his fifth early in the fourth, so saw limited action in the second half.

Pierce's usual offensive heroics were picked up by Joe Johnson who at one point scored 11 points in a row for the Nets.

Fittingly, Pierce, this game, saved his game ending heroics for the defensive end.

Toronto had a chance to win the game inbounding the ball in the front court after a Nets turnover with 6.2 seconds remaining.

Kyle Lowry, after splitting KG and Deron Williams, got a good look from five feet away which was emphatically swatted away by The Truth for the win.

Game 1 against the Heat for Brooklyn takes place Tuesday night in Miami.
