The Phoenix Suns defeated the Boston Celtics 87 to 80 tonight at the Garden. Phoenix came in on a bit of a losing skid but Tank-a-palooza was on tonight despite a strong night for the Green. The leading scorer for Boston was Chris Johnson dropping 11 points, while Goran Dragic put the team on his back wheeling and dealing for 20 points.

The first half was a fast paced game, lots of easy baskets for both sides early. However, as the half went on it turned into poor shooting contest as Boston only shot 37%. The C’s were down a quick 11 points, and then they snuck back into it reducing the gap to 2 going into the locker room for the half.

The C’s came out flat and let up what felt like ten million fast-break buckets in the beginning of the third. The final frame proved to be go time as the C’s came out gunning, going on a 9 to 0 run and picking up the lead. Dragic would have none of that and orechstrated his team back into the lead. It was a basket for basket battle down the stretch, but a huge and-1 by Alex Len down the stretch gave the Suns the lead. The Celts had a mess of a possession out of the time out and the game was over.

The Celtics get back after it Sunday evening versus the New Orleans Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center.
