Jared Sullinger picks Kelly Olynyk for MVP of Rising Stars game

MVP of having a good time?

Jared Sullinger, going against the odds with his MVP pick for the Rising Stars game.

Sophomore Sullinger and rookie Kelly Olynyk will both be representing the Celtics in the Rising Stars game tomorrow night in New Orleans. This game, of course, is one featuring the best first and second year players in the league.

The teams were chosen in a draft, with Grant Hill and Chris Webber the GMs. Sullinger was selected in the fifth round for Team Webber. Olynyk was not drafted and went to Team Webber.

According to Sullinger, that was the best acquisition in the history of the Rising Stars draft.

Chris Forsberg, ESPNBoston:
“Kelly for MVP,” offered Sullinger, referencing teammate Kelly Olynyk, who will join him at Friday’s annual rookie/sophomore mixer. “The past two games, the way he’s been playing -- confidence means everything in the world in basketball -- so I don’t think anybody’s stopping him down there.”

I would love it Kelly won the MVP.

As Forsberg points out though, it's not likely. He's currently given 22/1 odds of winning.
