Celtics lazy passes make Kawhi Leonard look like 'The Glove'

Gary A. Vasquez-US PRESSWIRE

Despite the careless play of the Boston Celtics last night it was still more of a contest than Tuesday’s blowout. But the C's picked up some bad habits last night of sloppy ball security and telegraphing passes leading to 17  team turnovers. Many of those TOs lead to some of the Spurs 20 fast break points, but no one took advantage of it more than Kawhi Leonard who had 5 steals.

This was completely obvious if you watched the game; Leonard read two ridiculously telegraphed passes and turned them into uncontested layups. Leonard is a solid defensive player, but the C's made him look otherworldly. At one point last night the Spurs outscored the Celtics 19-0 off of turnovers. If you like the Ping-Pong ball strategy for this season, than this is a GREAT habit for the C’s to pick-up. Lazy passes and turnovers is going to be the full focus of Brad Stevens and the coaching staff to try and correct before Fridays match-up with the Pacers.
