Celtics uniforms named best in NBA; 7th best in all of sports

The Celtics may not be very good this season..but they are kings of the NBA in at least one extremely important category: Uniforms.

Ok so maybe it's not that important. But still, they're #1 in something, and that's not something we'll be able to say on the court over the next few seasons.

According to ESPN's "UniWatch", the Celts have the #1 jersey in the NBA and the #7 uniform in American pro sports.

I full recommend taking a look at the entire list, which ranks all 122 pro sports teams, but here's what UniWatch had to say about the C's (for those unfamiliar, UW keeps tabs on all the pro sports uniform changes and the like. Usually pretty funny stuff.)

Still the class of the NBA. No goofy side panels, no extraneous bells or whistles -- just a perfect vertically arched wordmark and a simple green-and-white color scheme. Remember the rule about classics: They got to be classic for a reason.

This is the 2nd straight season the Celtics have been ranked the best in the NBA. Personally I've always loved the C's uniforms. They perfectly represent both their nickname and their city, without being obnoxious or gimmicky. The Celtics have barely touched their uniforms over the past few decades, and for good reason. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Some other NBA teams and where they ranked:

- Lakers (#2 NBA, #13 overall)
- Spurs (#3 NBA, #15 overall)
- Heat (#6 NBA, #26 overall)
- Knicks (#16 NBA, #67 overall)
- Kings (#30 NBA, #121 overall - 2nd worst in sports)

And the other Boston teams:

- Bruins (#2 NHL, #8 overall)
- Red Sox (#16 MLB, #48 overall)
- Patriots (#13 NFL, #55 overall)
