Kenny Anderson admits he was sexually abused as a child

Almost a year after Celtics guard Keyon Dooling disclosed that he was sexually abused as a child, former C’s guard Kenny Anderson has followed suit. In a recent interview with David Roth of SB Nation, Anderson discussed the trauma of his childhood. I recommend reading the entire interview, this guy is my hero. He saw the disclosure as a way of helping someone who is in a similar situation and struggling to come to grips with what happened, saying:
“The bottom line is if I can help somebody,” said Anderson, “and they see Kenny Anderson got molested and he’s talking about it, then maybe people can come out and maybe tell their story.”
Both Dooling and Anderson are showing incredible strength to come forward and discuss this, these guys are amazing. I have the utmost respect for both of them and hope they can help as many kids as possible. Sexual abuse is still a taboo subject for men to talk about unfortunetly, but hopefully these two stand up guys can help bring more awareness.
